A banner was not dismissed. What now?
Open the popup and check the line under "Cookie decliner here". It says what TidyTab did on this page, or that it never found a notice. If it found nothing, the banner is likely inside a closed shadow root, which no extension can reach, or it appeared more than 30 seconds after the page loaded. Report the URL and it can usually be handled.
It accepted cookies instead of rejecting them.
That is the last resort, not the first choice. TidyTab tries the reject control, then a "necessary only" control, then opens the preferences panel and looks for a reject in there, then switches every optional toggle off and saves. Only when a site offers none of those does it accept, because the alternative is leaving the banner on your screen forever. If you would rather it never accepted, set the strategy to Hide only, no click in Options.
A site stopped working, or I cannot log in.
Switch it off for that site first: click the toolbar icon and turn off "Cookie decliner here". The page is back to normal on the spot, no reload. Then send the URL, because that is a bug and it belongs in the matcher, not in a per-site workaround. As of 1.3.3 the decliner will not go near sign-in and account forms, anything you can type into, bot challenges like Cloudflare Turnstile and reCAPTCHA, or anything wrapping the main content of the page. A cookie banner sitting next to a login form is still handled normally.
How do I turn it off on one site?
Click the toolbar icon and switch off "Cookie decliner here". It takes effect straight away, no reload. The master switch above it turns TidyTab off everywhere.
Reader Mode does nothing on this page.
It needs an article to work with. On a page that is mostly navigation, a feed,
or an app interface, there is no confident result to show, so it declines rather
than producing a garbled one. The toolbar badge shows ! when that
happens.
How do I change the keyboard shortcut?
The default is Alt + R. Change it at
chrome://extensions/shortcuts, which is where Chrome keeps every
extension's shortcuts.
Does it get past paywalls?
No, deliberately. If dismissing a wall is what unlocks the content, that is access control rather than a cookie preference, and TidyTab leaves it alone.
What does it do with my data?
Nothing leaves your browser. There is no account, no analytics and no server. See the privacy policy.
